Local OCR is a static site. Unless this page is updated, it has no image-upload endpoint and does not send images to a server.
What is processed
- Selected images are processed in this browser's memory, Canvas and private OCR runtime.
- Paddle OCR models are downloaded from their public model host on first use and cached by the browser. Model requests may create ordinary network metadata, but images are not sent with model requests.
- Only when you explicitly choose “Save to history” do recognition text, time, language and compression dimensions enter browser
localStorage. You can delete individual or all records in the tool. - Necessary local storage supports model caching, language and consent choices. These records are not synced to a server by Local OCR.
Advertising and consent
The site may display ads after a real AdSense publisher ID is configured. For traffic in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, a consent interface is shown first and the advertising script is not loaded before consent. Optional storage can be rejected, and the “Cookie settings” control can reopen preferences. Necessary storage supports the tool and cannot be disabled. Without a configured publisher ID, AdSense is not loaded.
Advertising providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their policies. Before enabling ads, the site operator must confirm the CMP, Google policies, vendor list, regional logic and legal basis, and replace the operator identity and contact address below.
Third parties and retention
The OCR runtime and models are supplied by open-source projects and their public CDN. The browser, hosting platform and advertising provider may keep technical logs under their own policies. Local OCR does not create a server database of images or history. Clearing site data removes local records and consent choices.
